National Service Scheme [NSS]

The college has been sanctioned four N.S.S units by Bharathiar University, Unit I and III for Women students and Unit II and IV for men students. Various service oriented activities and special camps have been conducted successfully every year.

* Annual NSS Camps held at various villages around Jothipuram
* Tree plantation and Pulse Polio immunization programs are some of the achievements.

Youth Red Cross [YRC]
Youth represent a substantial part of the membership of Red Cross for its humanitarian commitment. Young volunteers can make a significant contribution to meeting the needs of the most vulnerable people within their local communities through Red Cross youth program. This has been designed to involve young people as much as possible in the movement and its activities not only as workers and also as beneficiaries.
Our college YRC unit is spearheaded by Mr. P. Rajappan, H.O.D of Management.

The program focuses on the following areas:
Blood donation to the needy people in and around Coimbatore.
Conducting various health camps to the student, staff and to the nearby village communities.
Encourage community service through training and education.
Disseminate the seven fundamental principles of Red Cross and Red Crescent movement through activities that encourage the Red Cross ideals.
The youth unit aims to have young people recognized by Societies leadership as equal partners who address the needs of the most vulnerable.

Extra - Curricular Activities

The College is keen on developing extra - curricular activities for the benefit of the students. As per the regulations of the Bharathiar University every student has to serve in any one of the extra curricular activities namely NCC/ YRC/ Sports and Games for two years, failing in which they will not be awarded degree.

* Campus Cleaning, Tree planting and watering.
* Organizing Blood Donation Camp, Blood Grouping Camp and General Medical Camp.
* AIDS awareness programme.
* Awareness about the evils of Drinking and Drug Abuse.
* Celebration of national importance days and special days announced by the Govt.
* Celebration of road safety week, fuel conservation program etc.
* Environmental education program.
* Propagation of eradication of social evils like casteism, communalism, corruption, adulteration, hoarding, profiteering, untouchability, drug addiction etc.
* Creating of ‘Grow-More Trees’, Consciousness among people, 'Women Empowerment’ and that they too contribute to economic and social well being of the community.
* Social Service during festivals and meals.
* Assistance to the health authorities in inoculation and immunization, supply of medicines, etc.

Co-Curriculum Activities

SPORTS AND GAMES
Sports and Games activities are organized from the beginning of the year. Intramural tournaments are conducted in Cricket and Ball Badminton and indoor games such as Chess and Carrom. Prizes and Certificates are distributed to winners.
Our students have also participated in several inter collegiate tournaments (Handball, Volleyball, etc.) organized by the Bharathiar University and CICAA. They have emerged as runners-up in Handball for the Academic year 2002-2003.

SPOKEN ENGLISH AND BRIDGE COURSE
One more feather in the cap of Pioneer - A new bridge course has been framed and organized for the benefit of Tamil medium students to develop skills in communicative English. Free coaching in Spoken English is given to students to speak the language fluently.

LITERARY COMPEITIONS
Students are encouraged to participate in literary competitions organized in our College and by other well known institutions. Many students have emerged winners in these competitions.

SEMINARS
Seminars are conducted by the Computer Science, Math’s, Commerce and Management Departments in the respective subjects thereby training students in Preparation and Paper Presentation. Faculty and Students also participate in National, State, and District Level Seminars conducted by outside organizations, Universities and Colleges.
